The world's perspective on health is changing! Today, health services are being shaped beyond treatment, on the basis of preventive medicine and a holistic approach. A child's health, including oral and dental health, is a whole.

In our country, pediatricians and family physicians, as the doctors who first evaluate pediatric patients, are at the most critical point of this process. Accurate referrals made in the early period are decisive for preventing caries, establishing healthy habits, and referring children at risk in a timely manner. This role is also an indispensable part of the holistic health approach.

In clinical practice, oral findings may be early signs of many systemic diseases; medications used and dental infections may directly affect general health. Therefore, knowing the key decision points regarding oral and dental health strengthens patient management.

On the other hand, in pediatric dentistry practice, evaluating the pediatric patient not only through oral findings but together with general health status has become more important than ever. A better understanding of systemic diseases, medical treatments, and pediatric evaluation processes will help pediatric dentists develop a safer, more accurate, and more holistic patient approach. This need makes strong and sustainable knowledge sharing between the two disciplines essential.

This congress aims to provide directly applicable knowledge for all participants, especially pediatricians and family physicians, through real scenarios encountered in daily practice. The program consists of case-based sessions that provide clear answers to the questions "when should I refer?", "which finding is important?", and "when should I intervene?"

Our aim is to strengthen preventive medicine, establish a common clinical language, contribute to reducing early childhood caries in our country, and, more importantly, bring these two disciplines working in the field of child health even closer together.
